Daughter of John and Caroline Mayers Blackman. Emeliza married George Thomas Brown on January 29, 1880. They had three children, Evelina May 1881 - 1956; Leonce Wilbert b. 1883; and Edith Emma 1893 - 1958.

I've changed Emeliza's maiden name several times between Blackman and Mayers. The 1870 census shows John Blackman living in the household next to the one of Caroline Mayers and Emelyza whose name is Elizabeth on the census. In 1880 Caroline is living with John and her last name shown as Blackman. Not entirely certain that John is her father because her wedding announcement has her last name as Mayers:
