Edward Kappell's (Kappele) history, makes him the most colorful character in the family. Some called him dashing and debonair, some a scoundrel. It may be, Edward may have bore the DNA for many of his offspring. Even though he had seemed to be a little unorthodox and made some disastrous decisions in life, many people in his late life said he was one of the most likeable and charming persons they had known. Others had a extremely bad opinion of him, Edward, many times found himself with worldly confrontations; bringing incarceration as a consequence.

Edward travelled throughout the midwest United States and ended up in Harbourville, Nova Scotia, owning and operating a luxury lodge.

He retired and moved to Boston where he wrote for newspapers involving himself with political rhetoric. Edward was called "old nick".He died and was returned to Berwick Cemetery in Nova Scotia so he would rest in peace.

He must have been a real character. Some of us would like to have the exciting life he lead.
