ROBERT LEE PIERCE'S OBITUARY:

CHOCTAW COUNTY PIONEERS BURIED

HUGO, Jan. 25.---Choctaw county this week lost two pioneer citizens by death.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday in Soper for Howard Morris, 73 years old, retired postmaster.

Rites were held here Friday for Robert Lee Pierce, 68 years old, who served as a United States marshal for many years.

Pierce, a native of Indian Territory, was born in Nelson, an early-day stage coach terminus. He served as United States marshal before statehood and later from 1903 to 1933, when he retired. His wife, two sons and two daughters survive.

Morris, a charter member of the Soper Masonic lodge, had lived in this section since 1901 and retired as Soper postmaster in 1940 after 17 years in office. His widow, two sons and one sister survive.
