Rufus Alansow Pomeroy was the son of Francis Grant Pomeroy and Jerushia B. Lunt Pomeroy. Rufus married Esther Caroline Halverson on May 31, 1887. Rufus and Caroline had two children, Hugh Lawrence and Eulala. Caroline, born in 1866, passed away in 1901, at the young age of 35 years old. Rufus then married Christina H W Brodie on May 22, 1901, in Amberg, WI. Christina was born in Scotland and her Father was Peter Brodie and her Mother was Christina Weir. Rufus and Christina had two sons, Rufus “Leon” and James Russell, to add to their family. Rufus (Father) and his family were residents of Marinette, Wisconsin for several years and later lived in Amberg, WI. Rufus was a granite cutter in Amberg, WI. Rufus was also a road patrolman in Amberg for a number of years. Rufus passed away at the age of 71 years old and his services were held in the Presbyterian Church.
