Alice Hauber, 90, a resident of Iowa City until recent months, died this morning at a Des Moines nursing home following a long illness.
Funeral mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Church here, with burial in St Joseph's Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Donohue Mortuary where friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday.
Mrs Hauber was born in Iowa City Dec 10 1882, to Frank and Barbara Novak. She was married to Ben J Hauber in Iowa City in 1907. She was a memeber of St Mary's Church and the parish Altar and Rosary Society.
Surviving are two daughters. Mrs Donald (Bernice) Connell of San Francisco, Calif. and Mrs. T. J. (Katherine) Fellman of Des Moines; six grandchildren: and 18 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, four brothers and three sisters.
