Sarah Lou Dorsey entered into rest peacefully on July 24, 2014, with her family close by her side after an extended illness.
She was born April 29, 1934 in Blount County to Floyd and Alice Garner Hatcher. She loved her family and got great joy from being a wife, mother and grandmother. Sarah accepted Christ at a very young age and was a member of Six Mile Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by both parents; her much beloved husband, Nathan S. Dorsey; son, Joe Dorsey; brothers Kenneth Hatcher, Howard Hatcher, Robert Hatcher and sisters, Dorothy Blair and Marie Keller.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Joyce and Jim Skinner of Carrollton, Georgia; son and daughter in law, Jeff and Cynthia Dorsey of Maryville; son Jay Dorsey of Knoxville; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Lois Payne of Maryville; brothers and sisters in law, Jack and Eden Hatcher of Maryville and Archie, Wanda Hatcher of Marietta, Georgia and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and internment at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Oak View Baptist Church Cemetery in Walland, Rev Gerald Ivey officiating. Arrangements by Miller Funeral Home, (865) 982-6041, www.millerfuneralhome.org.
