A. Robert ‘Bob' McMains, 83, formerly of New Albany, passed away in Columbus, Saturday, September 17, 2011. He was born June 18, 1928 in Columbus, to the late Robert and Margarett (Schaffner) McMains. He graduated from Mifflin High School and was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. Bob was a 32nd Degree Mason and was Worthy Patron of the Caledonia Chapter OES in 1962. He was an avid OSU Buckeye fan. He is preceded in death by Shirley his wife of fifty years. He is survived by three children Linda (David) Waite, Sharon (Bruce) Gnandt and Jim (Peggy) McMains, seven grandchildren, Lisa (John) Frank, Chris (Kristy) Gnandt, Brian Gnandt, Abbie (Dan) Guzzo, Sarah, Emily and Kevin McMains and four great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. where a funeral service will be held Friday at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Mifflin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 1379 Dublin Rd., Columbus, OH
