Vacie Florence Hopkins (nee Ratliff), age 91, of Catonsville, Md., formerly from Hancock County, born Aug. 22, 1920, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2012 at Saint Agnes Hospital, Baltimore, Md.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert C. Hopkins; daughters, Norma Jean Williams and Joann Trotter; parents, Cleve Ratliff and Sarah Royston; brother, Emit; and sisters, Mae, Velva Amex, Marie Seal, Laura Warren and Cleo Jerrell
Survivors include grand-daughters, Donna Lynn Adcock and husband, Fred, Diana Joan Gurney and husband, Don, all of Maryland and Shannon Jean Trotter of Delaware; sons-in-law, Carnell Williams and Mark Trotter; great-grandsons, Zachary Lyle and Jacob Lee Adcock and Chad Lewis Melton; great-granddaughter, Abigail Nicole Gurney. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews with special regards to her niece, Debbie Jerrell.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, 2012 at the Harrison Cemetery in Sneedville with the Rev. Earl Bowlin officiating.
If inclement weather, services will be held in the McNeil Funeral Home Chapel.
