McCLURE - Erma L. Romig, 84, of 15 E. High St., McClure, died at 7 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at the Lewistown Hospital.
Born on Dec. 9, 1924, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Herman W. and Bessie (Aurand) Bubb. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Romig on April 3, 1977.
She is also survived by a daughter, Jane Thomas and her husband, Frank, of Beavertown; grandchildren, Timothy E. Thomas and wife Penny, and David E. Thomas and wife April; two great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and four step great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving, sisters and a brother, Louise Rusnak, of Yardley; Floyd Bubb and his wife, Barbara, of Fairless Hills; Beverly McWilliams, of Havertown; and a brother-in-law, Paul Laird, of McVeytown.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael L. Romig; and a sister, Mildred Laird.
In her early life, she was employed at the Standard Shirt Factory in McClure; later, she was a production employee at the Arrow Shirt Factory in Lewistown for 20 years and was last employed at Kirby Manufacturing Company in McClure.
She was currently a foster grandparent for the last 10 years.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in McClure and the Ladies Auxiliary of the McClure Fire Company.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no public viewing. Private interment will be in the McClure Union Cemetery.
