Rexine L. Gordon, 81, Waterville, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002, at Community Memorial Long Term Care, Marysville.

A service was at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Waterville. The Rev. Bill Hall officiated. She was cremated and inurnment will be later in Riverside Cemetery, Waterville.

Kim Oatney sang "In the Garden," "Surely, The Presence of the Lord is in This Place" and "The Irish Blessing," accompanied by Lois Andersen, organist.

Casketbearers were Jeanette Huizenga, Claire Bramlage, Ben Bramlage, Chad Gordon, Amy Gordon, Jana Stump and Erin Stump.

Rexine was born March 24, 1921, at Waterville, the daughter of Frederick A. and Thelma A. Norris Winkenwader. She attended Starr Country School north of Waterville and graduated from Waterville High School in 1938.

She married William Henry Gordon in February 1941. He died Nov. 6, 1981.

She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Ladies Aid at the church, American Legion Post 332 Auxiliary, Waterville Homemaker's Unit and a life member of Rebekah Lodge 108. She was a charter member of the Empty Spoon Club and a former member of the Royal Neighbors of America.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister, Lorraine Hewitt.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Gordon, Grand Island, Neb., and Brian Gordon, Marys-ville; a daughter, Kathleen Stump, Belleville; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
