Thomas Ellsworth Allen.


Thomas Ellsworth Allen was born in Cass county, Illinois, February 18, 1863, and died at his home in Pawnee City, Nebr., February 10, 1918. With his parents he moved to Pawnee county, Nebraska, in 1866, settling near DuBois. He was married to Freda Dellenbach, who, with three children, survives him-Fred E., near Newport News, Va., in the service of his country; Velma G. and Cathrine at home. He is also survived by his aged father, who resides near DuBois, and four sisters- Mrs. Jennie Bullard and Mrs. Julia White, both of Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Florence Fry, of DuBois. His mother and two sisters have preceded him to the great beyond. Mr. Allen was a man of very quiet and retiring disposition, who was intimately known by few people. He was very kind and thoughtful of others. His sterling qualities were especially manifest in the home life, being kind, considerate, loving and self-sacrificing in serving those whom he most loved. For a number of years Mr. Allen had been identified with the United Presbyterian church as a faithful and consistent member. In this church the funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30, being conducted by the pastor, Rev. A. g. Hastings. Interment was made in the Pawnee City cemetery.- Pawnee City Chief.
