Lena Mae Skinner, 78, mother and housewife, died June 23 of a stroke at the University Medical Center in Jackson. Mrs. Skinner was a native of Simpson County and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Services were held Thursday, June 25 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery in Mendenhall. She is preceded in death by her husband: Barney Skinner & Son Max Skinner. Survivors include six sons: Daniel Skinner of Pearl; Roger Skinner of Puckett, Charles Skinner of Wesson, Don Skinner of D'Lo, Bobby Skinner of Hazlehurst, and Jimmy Skinner of Mendenhall; three daughters, Bonnie Hemby of Brandon, Jean McLendon Bomar of Brandon, and Marlene Taylor of Titusville, Florida; three brothers, Bill Smith of Mendenhall, Charlie Smith of Magee, and Dan Smith of Richland and 26 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
