She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elwood Daffron, who passed away December 27, 1976, her sister, Dessa Mann Reals, her three brothers Rufus Mann, George Mann and Hugh Mann, and a grandson Charles R. Howerton. She is survived by her two children, daughter Gerry Daffron Howerton and her husband Rev. Robert B. Howerton, Jr of Germantown, TN and son Richard Allen Daffron and his companion Tina Funderburg of Flippin, Arkansas.
Mrs. Daffron is also survived by three grandchildren, Mary Jane Howerton Carroll and her husband Michael W. Carroll, Robert B. Howerton, III and Trema L. Daffron, and five great grandchildren Jennifer M. Carroll, Matthew W. Carroll, Robert B. Howerton, IV, Nicholas C. Howerton, and Wesley A. Howerton.
Bessie lived in Cotter, Arkansas over 50 years and was a beautician in her own Beauty Salon. She was a member and former president of the Tennie Craig Circle, and played a major role in raising funds to build the current Cotter City Park.
Visitation will be held at the Burns Funeral Home in Yellville on April 18, 2009 from 11am-noon, with Mrs. Daffron's Celebration of Life service beginning at Noon in the Funeral Home Chapel.
