Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Rick Poster officiating. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, near Hills.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Donohue-Lensing Funeral Home, where a parish vigil service will begin at 7 p.m.
Mr. Altmaier was born Nov. 23, 1918, in Iowa City, the son of Philip and Florence Freswick Altmaier. He married Pat A. Altmaier on Nov. 30, 1941, in Burbank, Calif.
He was a farmer and also worked for Proctor & Gamble, served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; three daughters, Cedra (Mrs. Douglas) Williamson, Elaine (Mrs. Philip) Haddy and Lois (Mrs. Edward) Crowley; one son, Robert Altmaier; three sisters, Dorothy Hommerding, Miriam Calderon and Kathleen MacTaggart; two brothers, Cecil and Dale; and eight grandchildren.
His parents and a grandson died earlier.
