Ina Winger, 94 of Brush, passed away January 11, 2012 at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. Ina Elizabeth Renkel was born October 30, 1917 at Rago, CO to Jennie Wallin and Alex Renkel. She attended school in Akron and graduated with the class of 1935. She received a scholarship to the Barnes School of Business and received her diploma for secretarial skills. She enlisted in the US Navy as a WAVE on September 10, 1943 and served in the Communications Department in Washington D.C. She received her honorable discharge on November 12, 1945. She was united in marriage to Clifton Vern Winger on February 23, 1946. She worked as a secretary for a number of employers in Akron and retired in 1979. She was an active member of Martha Washington Chapter #47, Order of Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron and most other offices. She was appointed Grand Representative to New Brunswick and she and Cliff had the privilege of attending their Grand Chapter in Moncton, New Brunswick. She also served the Grand Chapter of Colorado as Grand Ruth in 1977-78. Ina received her 50 year pin on November 19, 2005. Cliff's health problems forced them to move to Lake Havasu City, AZ in 1991. She was preceded in death by her husband Cliff, son Robert, her parents, one sister Nellie, two brothers Leslie and Rex, and brother-in-law Marion. She is survived by a granddaughter Christina and husband Michael Speis; two great-granddaughters Desiree Crystal and Brooklyn Rene; sisters-in-law Marquoketa Renkel and Opal Winger; three nieces Jane Renkel, Joan (Gene) Lenz, and Blain (Marin) Glasser; as well as several cousins and many friends. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the United Methodist Church of Akron. Interment will follow at Akron Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Akron Elks Lodge or to the United Methodist Church.
