He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maude Loveland Baxter; three daughters, Mrs. Harold Flint of South Royalton, Vt., Mrs. George Hodder of Adams; and Mrs Rider; and a sister, Mrs. John Barnes of Chappaqua. He was a native of Depauville. His father, the late Gaylord L. Baxter, was chief of the Watertown police department more than 40 years ago. In recent years he had managed the Community Store at Adams Center but retired in 1947.
