Evelyn played the part of Santa at schools and for other functions. Even for her grandchildren (me and my siblings included) on Christmas eve as she would pretend to climb out of the fireplace, place presents around the tree and head back for the fireplace as our mother would rush us back to our rooms. Now we carry on this tradition for our own grandchildren. Evelyn was a great influence in our lives. She was a wonderful grandmother.

Evelyn was Artie every year for many years and walked in the parades during Art City Days in Springville, Utah passing candy to kids and painting the noses of kids watching the parade along the sidewalks.

Evelyn Beatrice (Kirkwood) Vest. Mother of 7. She was a wonderful grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great Great Grandmother... She played the role of Mr. AND Mrs. Santa Claus for many years. She was "ARTIE" for Art City Days in Springville, Utah and walked in the parade for so many years. When she could not make the long walk in the parade she was offered rides in the antique cars. Evelyn had many talents. She loved to sew and make clothing and other things. She made pioneer dresses for dolls, outfits for her grandchildren to perform on stage and sock monkeys. She never sold her goods. She made them with love for her family and friends. Evelyn was a fantastic cook.She had a cafe in Springville in her younger days. People loved coming in for her pastries which were all home made. Evelyn sang and played the Mandolin and could yodel up a storm. She entertained on stage with her son and daughter for fireman Balls, Policeman Balls and where ever the family band was playing.
Evelyn was loved by all and will be loved and remembered for many years to come.
