Luther Lyle Bowker, 49, of Cherry Creek passed away, Thursday, June 23, 2011 in Cherry Creek.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. MDT, Saturday, July 2, 2011 at the Community Building in Cherry Creek with Fr. Les Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in St. Andrew's Episcopal Cemetery in Cherry Creek. An all night wake began at 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 1, 2011 at the community building. A procession formed at 5:00 p.m. east of town.

Luther Lyle Bowker was born September 6, 1961 in Eagle Butte, SD to Virgil Joseph and Susie Mary (Slow) Bowker. He attended school in Eagle Butte. Following his education Luther helped out as a community worker for the Cherry Creek and Eagle Butte communities.

On April 6, 1981 he married Carmelita Fire Cloud.

Luther spent his spare time fishing, doing woodwork and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife: Carmelita Bowker of Cherry Creek; one grandson: Torrin Condon of Cherry Creek; his siblings: Beverly Bowker of Eagle Butte and Marvin Bowker of Swiftbird and a host of nieces and nephews.

Luther was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Benjamin Bowker and one sister, Blanche Bowker.
