He emigrated to America with his parents in 1842 and settled in Plymouth twp where he resided till his death. He married Hannah Downend October 12, 1848 and to this union were born four sons and six daughters of whom four sons and four daughters survive to mourn his loss.
John Malone was a man of noble and generous character always kind and pleasant to all his fellow men. In leaving the work his acquaintances could have naught but kind works for his deeds and his loss will be mourned not only by his near friends and relatives, but by all the
community.
He was buried under the auspices of the Catholic church of which he was a devoted and consistent member. Father Joseph Smith performed the rites of burial.
