Lillian Ruth Saulsbury Bible Wampler, 81, of Emerald Road, Mosheim, died Wednesday at Life Care Center of Greeneville.

Mrs. Wampler retired after 20 years of service with Singer Sewing Co. and was the retired owner/operator of Wampler's Country Store on the Newport Highway.

She was a longtime member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church and was a member of the Mosheim Ruritan Club.

She grew up in the Cedar Hill community but had lived in the Mosheim community for more than 40 years.

She was a daughter of the late David C. Saulsbury and Jody Dunn Saulsbury and was preceded in death by her husband: Charles Noah Bible; an infant son: David Kyle Bible; two brothers: Roy Saulsbury and Ray Saulsbury; and her mother-in-law: Cora E. Bible, with whom she made her home for several years until she married Stewart M. Wampler, who died in 1995.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Carolyn and Charles M. Cobble of Mosheim; two grandchildren and their spouses: Chris and Antonia Cobble of Denton, Texas, and Becky and Jason Coomer of Knoxville; five great-grandchildren: Katheryne May Cobble, Christopher Alan Cobble Jr., Lillian Ruth Cobble, Charles Noah Cobble, and David Wright Cobble, all of Denton; a brother: James "Buddy" Saulsbury of Morristown; two sisters-in-law: Lois McInturff Saulsbury of Nashville and Pauline Wampler of Mosheim; special nieces and nephews and their spouses: Emily and LeRoy Wheeler, Dickie and Carolyn Harmon, Sandy Bible, Ann Mitchell, Doug and Janet Wampler, Brenda and Bill Hurst, Laura and Randy Rippetoe, Bob and Lori Saulsbury, David and Debbie Saulsbury, Ann and Bill Drake, and "Bo" and Claudia Saulsbury; several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins; several very special friends and neighbors; and two special caregivers: Andrea Carpenter and Marsha Carpenter.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Kiser Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Richard Long will officiate.

Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Don Baughard, Howard Whaley, Buddy Brown, Durward Shepherd, Jack Roark, Claude B. Weems Jr., John Ford, and Wayne Hartman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Myers, Buster Purkey, Dwight Myers, Don Brown, the members of the Wesley Bible Class of Mount Pleasant Church, the members of the Mosheim Ruritan Club, her friends at Brown Springs Baptist Church, and the nurses and staff of Life Care Center of Greeneville.
