On October 10, 1969, Harold was united in marriage to Jean Clark in Centerville. He worked for the Box Factory in Centerville before begin working as a Tree Trimmer in Centerville. He also enjoyed a good hunt, especially hunting deer. One of Harold's other favorite things to do was to "Junk". He had the patience for finding and selling junk items.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Richard, Donnie, Dickie and Kenny Collins; sisters, Deloris and Linda Collins; as well as two siblings in infancy.
Harold is survived by: his wife, Jean Collins of Centerville, Iowa; sons, Harold Collins, Jr. and his wife, Kathky Ann of Unionville, Missouri, Terry Collins of Nebraska and Dale Collins and his wife Ann Brooks of Centerville, Iowa; a brother, Billy Collins of Exline, Iowa; and sisters, Rosie Pratt and Peggy Garr both of Centerville, Iowa; including twelve grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 11 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Brian Hargrave officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. Visitation will be held from 9 am until the time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home with the family present. Memorils can be made to the American Cancer Society.
