Maury Co. native; descendant of pioneer Maury County settlers, s/o late John Hider Blair and Pearl Mae Nicks Blair; started his career as printer with THE DAILY HERALD, then purchased interest in The Commercial Press print shop and worked for THE MAURY DEMOCRAT, owned and operated Jersey Pride Creamery, managed Kraft Foods cheese plant, managed Castner-Knott Home Store on the square, and owned and operated Riverside Super Market; member of Columbia Lions Club since 1941, served as President and was honored with the Melvin Johnes Fellowship for 50 yrs. service, member and served as President of the Maury County Historical Society, served as Chairman of the Columbia Power and Water Systerm Board of Directors, member of the Board of Directors of the Maury County Chamber of Commerce, and was a Super Star volunteer for the Maury Regional Medical Center Auxiliary; mar. 2 Jul 1932 to the former Mary Ruth Fraser, she died 1 Apr 2009.
