Raymond J. Alfers, age 64 of Neola, Iowa passed away Friday, April 14, 2006 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born September 24, 1941 in Council Bluffs to the late Henry and Wilhelmina Remmes Alfers. Ray graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1959. He was an avid baseball player, sports enthusiast, and longtime dairy farmer in Neola. Ray was also a member of St. Patrick's Church.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Marilyn of Neola; daughters, Kristi Schultz and husband Randy of Chariton, Iowa, Kathy Alfers of Minneapolis, MN; sons, Jeff and wife Donna of Manning, Iowa, Dean and wife Kelly of Minden, Iowa; Tony and wife Trisha of Neola; brothers, Bob and wife Lynn of Olathe, KS, Ken and wife Molly of Duncanville, TX; grandchildren, Katie, Matt, Abbie and Megan Schultz, Ashtyn and Collin Alfers, Jaxson, Kylie and Ethan Alfers.
Visitation with the family will be Monday at 4:00 p.m. with a Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. at St.Patrick's Church in Neola. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. also at the church. Internment at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Neola. Luncheon to follow at church hall. (Obituary submitted by family)
