Serving as President of the George-Greene County Bar Association, he was appointed to serve as Youth Court Referee and Master in Chancery Court.
A veteran of the U. S. Army and a retired attorney for the Greene County Board of Supervisors, Greene County School District, Town of Leakesville and First State Bank, he died October 21.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Marie Breland of Leakesville; two daughters, Patricia (Scott) Cone of Hattiesburg and Karen (Chuck) Gaouette; two brothers, Billy H. Breland of Tupelo and Thomas M. Breland of Orville, Ala; one sister, Harlene Boykin of Mobile, Ala.; 8 nieces and 8 nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Martha Breland; his brother, James C. Breland; and his sister, Juadine.
