MOTHER OF JAMES LAFAYETTE MORRIS, HARRIDE MORRIS, ALLIE MORRIS, WILLIAM JASPER MORRIS, & HORCELL MORRIS.Rebecca married James Evans on November 10, 1872 in McNairy Co., TN. She was granted a divorce for cruel and inhuman conduct toward her after only two years of marriage. She married William L. Morris on September 8, 1889. The Massengill's were original immigrants to the McNairy Co. area. The 1900 census for McNairy County shows Rebecca J. living with her husband, William L. and children James L. and Harriett E. on a farm. Rebecca has been married for 11 years and given birth to 4 children of which only 2 are alive. Allie and William Jasper died before their first birthday. Rebecca died in McNairy County, in 1904 and is buried in Mars Hill Cemetery near two of her children.
