August C. Begalke, 86, who had resided with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Pezzani, of 1853 Belmont St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday morning at Manitowoc County Hospital.

Mr. Begalke was born July 29, 1876, in the Town of Gibson, son of the late Edward and Mathilda Moeller Begalke. He married Emma Teesch Dec. 12, 1899, in the Town of Liberty. She died in 1947.

He was employed at several old time meat markets, including Lowe and Schaeffer Market and Belinsky Market, and for a time operated his own meat market on the west side of the city. He was later employed at Bartlett-Frazier Co., and at Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry Co. Inc., from which he was retired in 1948. He was also a member
of the Brewer Maltster's Union.

Among survivors are a son, August Jr., of Milwaukee; three daughters, Mrs. Harold B. Schultz of Texarkana, Ark., Mrs. Hertha Delt, Wakeville, Texas, and Mrs. Pezzani of Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Julius Gruman of Two Rivers
and Mrs. Tillie Streese of Sheboygan, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Two sisters preceded him in death.
