Sutcliffe, Harland E.
MAZOMANIE — Harland E. Sutcliffe, age 81, died Sunday, September 20, 1987, at a Sauk City nursing home. He was born in Black Earth Township on September 20, 1906, son of the late Ernest and Louise Marquardt Sutcliffe. He was united in marriage to the former Marllla Howard on February 23, 1935. Mr. Sutcliffe was a former member of the Mazomanie Fire Department. Survivors include two sons; Robert (Betty) and Gary (Averil) both of Mazomanie; a daughter-in-law, Joan Sutcliffe of Mazomanie; a brother, Leslie of Black Earth; four sisters; Mary Bollig of Madison; Lucille Thorson and Evelyn Cooper both of Black Earth; and Leona Huerth of Las Vegas, Nevada; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilla, on June 18, 1975; a son, Donald, on February 24, 1987; two brothers, Dean and Lyle; and a sister, Jessie Landwehr. Funeral services will be held at GNEWIKOW FUNERAL HOME, Mazomanie, on Wednesday, September 23, with Pastor Bev Ritland officiating. Burial will be in the Mazomanie Cemetery.
