Services for Grady "Sonny" Asher, Sr., 72, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at St. Mark CME Church in Wills Point. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Services are under direction of Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.

Grady [passed away March 20, 2008 in Dallas. Grady "Sonny" Lee Asher, Sr. was born on November 7, 1935, to Sim and Emma Goodson Asher in the Cedar Grove Community in Van Zandt County. He was a lifelong resident of Wills Point, where he attended the Cartwright School system. Grady accepted Christ into his life as a child. Grady worked as a farmer, the Van Zandt Country Club, Baylor Hospital, and then finally retired from Old Castle in March 2007.

He married Antenita Randle on October 12, 1964, and to this union, two children were born. Lynette "Puddin" and Grady "Bubba" Asher, Jr. He was a faithful member of St. Mark CME Church, where he served as Trustee, Stewart, and a finance committee member until his death.

He is preceded in death by his parents, as well as a sisters, Irma Jean, Roberta Mackey, Rosie McGee and Doris "Cokie" Fuller; brothers, Freddie "Sugar" Asher, Kenneth Asher, Floyd Asher, and Billy Asher.

Grady is survived by his devoted wife, Antenita Asher of Wills Point; two loving children, daughter, Lynette Asher of Wills Point and his son, Grady Asher, Jr. of Wilmer; brother, Ben Asher and wife, Helen and Jimmy Asher and wife, Ruth, all of Ft. Worth; sister, Betty Robertson of Terrell; sister-in-law, Lula Bell Asher of Ft. Worth, Betty Sue Asher and Florence Asher, both of Wills Point, and Johnnie Asher of Terrell; grandchildren, LaResha and LaNesha Baker; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Family visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 Pm Monday evening.
