Born on Sept. 18, 1916 in Athol, she was a daughter of Leon and Clairesse (Deyo) Hause and was one of six children who grew up in Athol, graduating from Athol High School in 1934.
Jeanne was married to Frederick D. Rowe in 1939 and had enjoyed 66 years together at the time of his death on July 11, 2005.
Jeanne and Fred had lived in Springfield, Vt., and Charlestown, N.H., and then moved to Orange after World War II. In 1963, they moved to Dover, Del., and later to Florida in 1974. They remained summer residents of Lake Mattawa in Orange for many years.
Jeanne enjoyed collecting antiques, bells, birdhouses, and lighthouses. She had been a member of St. Mary's Church in Orange, as well as the St. Mary's Women's Club. Jeanne was also a member of the St. Paul the Apostle Women's Club.
Survivors include her sons, Frederick D. Rowe Jr. of Naples, Fla., John C. Rowe of Dover, Daniel T. Rowe of Springfield and Roger L. Rowe of Morrison, Colo.; a daughter, Kathleen J. Rowe of Dover; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
Besides her husband Frederick D. Rowe Sr., Jeanne was predeceased by a son, Richard L. Rowe on Jan. 30, 2003, as well as her brothers, Bernard Hause, Howard Hause, Robert Hause, and sisters, Arline Hause and Clairesse Sinclair.
There are no calling hours.
A memorial Mass at St. Mary's Church in Orange will be held later this year at a time to be announced.
Interment will be in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol.
