Michael and Katharina, daughter of Johann Peter Pitzen and Anna Maria Wagner, were married on 29 May 1873 at St Valerius Catholic Church in Wanderath, Prussia (Germany). They emigrated from Prussia (Germany) with their four children, Anna, Katharina, Mathias and John, and arrived at the Port of Castle Garden in New York, on 1 May 1882 aboard the ship Kronprinz Frederich Wilhelm, and they came directly to Johnsburg, McHenry County, Illinois. Their next three children, Mary, Peter and Josephine, were born in Johnsburg, McHenry County, Illinois. Michael and Katharina are my maternal great-great grandparents, through their daughter Katharina [Catherine], my great-grandmother ~
