Marjorie Jane Arthur, 92, of Wichita Falls, passed away Friday, January 13, 2012.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2012 in the Sanctuary of First United Methodist Church with Rev. John Dillard, officiating. Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2012 at Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

Marjorie was born on September 15, 1919 in Greenwood, Louisiana to Miller Lawton and Eleanor Jane (Bryson) Mays. On June 3, 1943, she married Lee Allen Arthur. Marjorie retired from WFISD in 1974 where she worked at Fannin Elementary School for 20 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she taught the Fidelis Sunday School Class and volunteered with the Intentional Caring Unit. She was also an active member of the local chapters United Daughters of Confederacy, as well as a member of DAR, and Colonial Danes. Marjorie will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brother, Miller Mays.

She is survived by her daughters, Jane Williamson and husband Barry of Wichita Falls, and Anne Popko and husband George of Athens; four grandchildren, Leslie Howard and husband Mark, Maegan Williamson all of Wichita Falls, Angela Popko and husband Charles Jacobus of Ft. Worth, and Laura Otillar and husband Steve of Houston; seven great-grandchildren, Harrison, Hamilton, and Hulen Howard, Zachary Jacobus, and Amber, Stevie, and Leah Otillar; and three nephews, Miller Mays, Foster Mays, and Lane Mays.

The family would like to thank Shauna Crow, her devoted friend and care taker, the staff at Presbyterian Manor Health Care, Hospice of Wichita Falls, and Dr. Tim McClellan for taking such good care of mother.
