On June 17, 1865, he transferred to Co. B, 2nd Pennsylvania Provisional Cavalry, as part of a war end consolidation and honorably discharged with his company August 7, 1865.
He married Anna Mary Catherine Griener September 3, 1868, and fathered Laura M. (b. 05/11/69), John Oliver (b. 1872), and Lulie O. (b. 1873). In 1882, he lived with his family in Idaville, Adams County, in 1890, in Tyrone Township, Adams County, but by 1920, was a resident of Harrisburg. After Anna Mary's death, he married Albertha "Bertha" Sprinkle November 7, 1922. Cause of his death is listed as "cancer of intestines."
