Grace Darnell, 86, formerly of 213 Poplar St., died Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at Oakmont East Nursing Center.

Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late James Thomas and Mamie Lee Sparks Blakely, and wife of the late Martin Osban Darnell.

Mrs. Darnell was a homemaker and was a member of Forestville Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Argel Ellenburg and husband, George, of Travelers Rest, and Ann Ellis and husband, Ed, of Piedmont; a son, Vernon Darnell and wife, Judy, of Athens, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by a sister, Inez Rhodes; and three brothers, J.W., Broadus, and Fred Blakely.

Visitation will be held tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest.

Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m., at Forestville Baptist Church. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Forestville Baptist Church, c/o Building Fund, 2 Old McElhaney Road, Greenville, SC 29617.

The family is at 213 Poplar St., Travelers Rest.
