John F. Hamlin

John Frank Hamlin, 85, of Crescent Street died Saturday, July 20, 2002, at his home.

Born in Anderson County, a son of the late Gaston and Ethel Johnson Hamlin, Mr. Hamlin retired from the Monaghan Plant of J.P. Stevens, and was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church, where he belonged to the Men's Sunday School Class. He had been a member of the Bates Masonic Lodge for over 50 years.

Surviving are his wife, Lucile Chapman Hamlin of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Janette Hamlin of Pelzer; a brother, R.V. Hamlin of Greenville; two sisters, Gladys Barco of Miami, Fla., and Kitty Pou of Belton; two grandchildren, Kristy Bowling of Powder Springs, Ga., and Dr. Kasey Hamlin-Smith of Miami, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Bowling and Riley Bowling.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Goss officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association , 301 University Ridge, Greenville, SC 29601.
