I got the information that he was buried in Sutton Cemetery from some online family tree that is no longer available, so that info is unproven. It's quite possibly accurate though, since his death certificate says that he was buried in Clio KY, and a newspaper article of the time says that the funeral services were held at the Clio Baptist church, and that the Howard Funeral Home was in charge of the burial. A second cousin of mine recently told me that they were unable to find George's grave marker in Sutton-Pemberton Cemetery, but that there are a lot of unmarked graves there. So one of them might be George's.
In 2020, some people online started attaching him biologically to his stepmother Mary Hickey Smith Hamblin. That is incorrect. Mary did not marry George's father until 1909, about 10 years after George was born.
