Retired District 77 employee Ruth J. Schultz, 72, of Mankato died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at her home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mankato, the Rev. Paul D. Nolting officiating. Burial is in Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery.
Visitation is 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Mankato Mortuary and continues one hour before services Monday at the church. Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church or donor’s choice.
Mrs. Schultz was born Oct. 12, 1928, to Robert and Anna (Fennern) Fenger at Willow Lake Township, Redwood County. She graduated from Wabasso High School in 1947 and married Gordon L. Schultz August 8, 1948, at Springfield. She had worked as a cook at Mankato West High School and Monroe School. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ladies Auxiliary and Women’s Study Guild. She enjoyed quilting, collecting antique glassware and flower gardening. Mrs. Schultz is survived by her husband; one daughter, Lori Batt of Mankato; three sons, David and his wife, Jane, Donald and his wife, Sherry, and Larry and his fiancée, Pam Jorgensen, all of Mankato; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two sisters and their husbands, Verna Wood and Glenn of Webster, Wis., and Verona Jessop and Gerald of Spicer; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers, including her twin.
