BAKER, Donald V. "Doug", -- Age 64, of Winston, Oregon, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2002. He was born December 6, 1937, in Scio, Oregon, son of George Charles and Ellen Edith (Kehoe) Baker. He was raised and educated in Eddyville, Oregon. He married Rita Struss in 1958 and had five children. Douglas, Teresa, David, Dean and Karen. He moved to Myrtle Creek, Oregon, in 1964 and worked for D.R. Johnson. In 1974, he moved to Alaska where he worked as a commercial fisherman. He was united in marriage to Ida Keys on July 18, 1981, in Juneau, Alaska. They returned to Oregon in 1985. He retired in 2000 from Terrain Tamers as a chip truck driver. Doug, as his family called him, enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting, camping and fishing. He also enjoyed working with wood. He enjoyed his family and always had a great sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Ida, of Winston; children, Douglas Baker; Teresa Smith and her husband, Randy; David Baker and Karen Snyder, all of Roseburg, Oregon; Dean Baker of Juneau, Alaska and Stepdauther Malinda Sturdevant and her husband, Stanley, of Myrtle Creek; a brother, Charles Baker and his wife, Mary, of Arizona; two sisters, Frances Rank and her husband, John, of Klamath Falls, Oregon; and Dorothy Raines and her husband, Desmond, of Winston; grandchildren include; Jennifer, Bryan, Walter, Brandon, Arron, Heather, Trevor, William, LeAnn, Mike and Brian. He also has numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at TAYLOR'S FAMILY CHAPEL in Winston on Tuesday, October 29, 2002, at 11 a.m. Private interment will be at Oceanside Cemetery in Coos Bay, Oregon.
