Mary Jane Morris' father was Philemon Wilkes Morris, who was born January 29, 1831 in North Carolina and died April 24, 1914 in Chickalah, Yell County, Arkansas. He is laid to rest in the Chickalah Hill Cemetery in Yell County. Mary Jane's mother was Emma P. [Dillon] Morris, who was born in North Carolina and died between 1871 and 1880 in Tennessee.

Mary's siblings were Preston Morris, Sarah Ann (Mary Jane's twin sister) and Reuben Lee Morris. After the death of Mary Jane's mother, her father married Sonora Melvina Jones on February 19, 1882 in Yell County. Their children were Margaret Elizabeth and Joseph Hall Morris.

Mary Jane married William 'Willie' Edward Campbell on March 24, 1892 in Yell County and the family farmed in Magazine Township.

Their children were Maude Mae, Ora Edith, John Herman Wilkes and Lola Eunice Campbell.

Mary Jane died in October 1940 and her husband followed her in death the following year. They are laid to rest beside each other in the Dacus Cemetery.
