Gayland Misner 79 of Lafayette died Tuesday July 18, 2006 at Saint Elizabeth Medical Center. Born October 30, 1926 to the late Clarence and Marie (Meeuwenberg) Misner he has been a lifelong resident of the area.

He was a graduate of Buck Creek High School, and a veteran of the Army who served during WW II. He worked as a salesman for Magic Glass of Indiana for over 20 years, and had served as president of sales. He was a member of the Battle Ground Lodge 313 FandAM, and the American Legion Post 11.

Surviving are 2 sons Randy (Penny) Misner of Fowler, Jerry (Tina) Misner of Lafayette, Penny (David) Guenther of Saline MI, and Robin (Brian) Freed of Lafayette. Also surviving is a sister Ila (Charles) Younker of Buck Creek, and Ike Misner of Buck Creek.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Sunday July 23, 2006 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Monday July 24, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at North Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Lung Association. He has been preceded in death by a son Robie Misner, and 2 brothers Robert Misner, and Gilbert Misner. Surviving are 7 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
