Born to James Madison and May Elizabeth Beakley Davidson on 10 May 1907 in Bexar County, Texas. Elva was married first to Anthony Jerrold Sammons and had one son Anthony Jerrold Sammons Jr. Her second husband was ? Copeland. Elva was known for her art work and later in her life after moving back to the Poteet area got involved in politics and ran for and won the position of "Mayor".
