David B. Towne, 85, Salina, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004.
Mr. Towne was born Jan. 12, 1919, in Abilene. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1964 after 20 years of service. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 18 years, retiring in 1981.
He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Scott D. Haag; a sister, Mary Towne; and two brothers, Raymond Towne and Verl Towne.
Survivors include his wife, Nina L., of Salina; a son, David M. of Salina; a daughter, Sammie C. Wormsbacher of Salina; two sisters, Wilma Plummer of Salina and Donna Holman of Huntsville, Ala.; four grandchildren, Daniel J. Haag and David M. Towne, both of Salina, Deborah M. Reed of Wichita, and Cinnamon L. Ludecke of Bennington; and five great-grandchildren.
The fuenral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 E. Crawford, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.
Memorials may be made to American Heart Associtation.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.[Salina Journal]
