Bobby, the son of Lloyd Lee “Buddy” Hasty and Donna Lee Katsules, was a graduate of the Lee High School Class of 1976 (Huntsville, AL) and a member of the Lee High Marching Generals Band, playing the drums.

As such, he was part of the group that marched in the New Orleans 1976 Mardi Gras Parade and won the Krewe of Mid-City’s “Greatest Bands in Dixie” Award. The year after Bobby graduated, this win would take the Generals to Washington, D.C. to represent Alabama by marching in President Jimmy Carter’s Inaugural Parade on 20 January 1977.

He also attended the University of North Alabama in Florence, majoring in Management (Class of 1981).

Bobby married Brenda Glenese Wright, daughter of Billy Glenn Wright and Barbara Daniels, on 7 August 1982 in Madison Co., AL. They were the parents of three children, Chad, Brittany, and Daniel.

He was the Captain of the “Knights who say Eeer,” a group of friends that rode the Tennessee River each week.
