Samuel Barber is Dead
Veteran of Civil War Passed Away This Afternoon
Samuel Barber died this afternoon at 1:40 at his home, 111 East White Street, having been Ill the past five months with a complication of diseases.
He leaves besides his wife, seven children all of this city, Mesdames Minnie Thompson, Edward Reddick, N.G. Snyder, Henry Miebach, Harry Stewart, Herman Gehrke and Mr. William Barber.
The deceased was born in Dundee, Monroe County, Michigan and served in the Civil war from 1861 to 1865. He was married Aug 16, 1866 and had resided in this city the past twenty years. He was a member of the Ludlow G.A.R., having lived in that place before coming to this city.
