She loved music and was an avid trumpet player with the orchestra in high school. She married Frank on May 13, 1950 and they became the parents of five children for whom she provided a nurturing and loving home.
Frank and GG enjoyed family trips to the beach and world travel. She especially loved the healing grotto in Lourdes, France and Medjugorje in the former Yugoslavia. The best memories involve celebrating holidays with family. She and Frank moved to Bend, OR in 2003.
GG was dedicated to the church and her community. She served as Eucharistic Minister and Parish Hostess for over 30 years at Saint Teresa's Church in New Cumberland, PA. She enjoyed over 40 years of running, ice skating and physical fitness; Jack Lalanne was her inspiration. Her biggest joys revolved around her family, church, music, dance and exercising outdoors. GG was a great example to all with her deep faith, genuine love for others, and zest for life. Her kind, generous spirit and compassion for all people brought out, for each of us, God's light, love, and laughter. GG brought incredible beauty to this world and was always able to find the best in everyone. We will keep her beautiful and bright spirit within us until we meet again.
GG is survived by her husband, Frank, four children; Steve, Kathy, Jeff and Greg; 6 grandchildren; Jeffrey, Lauren, Nicole, Jessica, Brittany and Gretchen; and 1 great grandson, Vinson. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Vinson, parents Marie and Ollie and her sister Rita.
Visitation will be at 9:00 am at Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church in Reading, PA on Saturday, November 1, 2008 followed by the Funeral Mass at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Mausoleum immediately following the mass. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home is handling local arrangements.
