Eldest child and only daughter of Eugenia Xidis and Peter Peter Trefonas, Catherine Margaritte Trefonas was born in Greece, and moved to Chicago, Illinois USA as a child. Her brothers are Louis Marco, George Peter, and Peter C Trefonas. She married Joseph Conrad Rau who died at the age of 35 due to heart complications, and together they had three children: Joseph, Peter Conrad, and Susan Louise Rau. Catherine re-married James J. Stathakos who was a dear friend of her late husband, and together they raised three children. Catherine is grandmother of Joseph and James Rau-Stathakos, and David, Michelle, Catrina and Alana Weitzenfeld. She is the great grandmother of Samantha and Jacob Weitzenfeld, and Audrey and Katherine Johnston. We will always love you Yiayia, may you rest in peace. <3
