Staff Sergeant Sanzi was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a member of the 19th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy along the Pusan perimeter in South Korea on July 16, 1950. Staff Sergeant Sanzi was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Good Conduct Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal (Japan). He was survived by wife Delores and son Steven Daniel Sanzi.
