HANNIBAL - Charles (Charlie) Davidson, 91, of Hannibal, died at 1:25 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2006, at Willow Care Center in Hannibal.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 27, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. The Rev. Eric R. Mattson will officiate. Burial with full military rites by Emmett J. Shields American Legion Post No. 55 will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 26, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
Mr. Davidson was born June 27, 1914, in Hannibal to Earl Albert and Eva Sidney Herring Davidson.
He was married to Sarah Noraleen Franks on Easter Sunday, March 24,1940, at Antioch Baptist Church in Hannibal. She survives.
Other survivors include one son Charles F. Davidson of Jefferson City; two daughters, Joylynn Pabst of Hannibal and Gayla Dunn of Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Virginia (Jean) Mulbargar of Sacramento, Calif., and Doris Hedrick of Hannibal; eight grandchildren, Brian Davidson, Brandon Davidson, Brenda Witte, Andrea Moegling, Aaron Pabst, Sarah Pabst, Cara Harding and Cortney Harding; and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Davidson was preceded in death by three brothers, Clifford Max Davidson, Harry Davidson and Robert Thomas Davidson; and one sister, Frances Bainter.
Mr. Davidson retired in 1976 as regional manager for Metropolitan Life Insurance. He was a member and one of the founders of the Mississippi Gun Club, a member of the Board of Directors for Missouri Conservation Federation, with which he had served on several committees.
For several years he wrote the hunting and fishing report for the Hannibal Courier-Post and Salt River Journal. He was past recipient of the Conservationist of the Year Award. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Davidson was a member of Arch United Methodist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Conservation Foundation of Missouri, Charitable Trust, in care of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Pabst, Brian Davidson, Brandon Davidson, Dave Hedrick, Dell Bainter, Stan Buxman and Hack White.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Fischer, Billy Rex Browngard, Harold White and Leo Harrison.
