Mr. Booker was the sole remaining child born to the marriage of Horace and Florence Booker of Magnolia Springs, Texas. He was 98 years old.
Preceded in death by his siblings: Reverend Sampson Booker, former pastor of First Baptist Church in Silsbee, Texas, Offie, Neal, Elijah, James, Wilson, Nelm, Trudy, Merlene, Maybelle, Eddie Mae and Corine.
He continued to reside in the house of his birth, never marrying, but a blessing to everyone, with whom he came in contact.
He leaves to mourn his passing to his devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The last Rite of Passage, for Uncle Press will be observed at Springhill Baptist Church in Magnolia Springs, Texas on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 11am.
The burial will be at the Springhill Cemetery, also in Magnolia Spring, Texas.
Officiating the celebration of his spiritual transformation will be his great nephew, Byron K. Johnson, Pastor of Bread of Life Church of God in Christ in Buna, Texas.
He is survived by an always trust worthy and loyal friend, in the person of Mr. Jackie Norsworthy of Magnolia Springs, Texas. He left in sorrow a plethora of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, who loved him dearly.
The grieving family is truly appreciative of the loss shown for Uncle Press as he was affectionately known in the communities of Jasper, Kirbyville, and Magnolia Springs. Uncle Press will live in our hearts until we meet again, in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Services are under the direction of Robinson Community Funeral Home 345 Highway 63 West Jasper, Texas.
