Walter Bennett Stallings, 72, died Saturday, Feb 8, 1992. He was born Nov 11, 1919 in Mannsville, OK to parents of Walter M. and Grace Bennett Stallings. He moved to Ardmore as a child and later worked at Lumberman's Millwork and Supply Co.

He married Katherine Hughes of Kingston on Nov 9, 1939. He served with the US Army during World War II in the South Pacific. Mr Stallings moved to Oklahoma City in 1946 where he has lived since.

He was co-founder of Power Equipment Co in 1953 and founder of Power Equipment & Engineering and Power Equipment & Manufacturing Inc. In 1968 he was active as chairman of both corporations until his death. He was a member of First United Methodist Church at Moore, OK.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Catherine Hughes Stallings; his daughter, Rita Brensing and her husband Nelson Jr; daughter Lisa Berry and her husband Nick; his son, Jon and his wife, Janis. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Deborah Brensing, Julie Banning and her husband, Austin; Nelson Brensing III, Ryan K. Stallings, Bennett Berry, Jon Berry, and Morgan Berry, and seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs Lou Whitfield of OKC; and Mrs Imogene Rollins of Biloxi, MS.

Services will be held Tuesday, Feb 11 at 3:30 pm in the Hahn-Cook, Street & Draper Chapel. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. (Hahn-Cook, Street & Draper)
