Donald E. Snyder Age 80 of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, June 10, 2005, surrounded by his family.
Born in Milton, PA, Mr. Snyder was the son of the late Jesse and Hattie Snyder. He retired from the DuPont Company in 1984 as a financial analyst after 34 years of service. An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Snyder served as a sergeant in the 157th Combat Engineers. He was a member of the Milton, American Legion and the Christ United Methodist Church of Roselle.
His wife, Nancy (McHenry) Snyder, predeceased him in 1991. He will be missed by his sons, Richard and his wife, Beth, of Bear and Jeff and his wife, Kathy, of Newark; and his daughter, Donna Muir and her husband, Jim, of Bear. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, Sarah, Eric, R.J., Patrick, Jesse, Beth, Kaitlin and Kevin; a great granddaughter, Lily; his sisters, Edyth Davis, Ruth Greenly, Florence Stahlnecker and Caroline Greenly; and his brother, Frank.
A funeral service will be held in the chapel at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, at 11 am on Wednesday, June 15th.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, Inc., 3515 Silverside Road, Wilmington, DE 19810; or to the Arthritis Foundation Delaware Chapter, 100 W. 10th Street, Wilmington, DE 19810.
